Hi there,
This site is nothing short of amazing!

At the moment claiming I'm in receipt of DLA
I was awarded indefinite mobility component since
1991 I had a bone marrow transplant for ALL Acute lymphoblastic Leukaemia. I received total body radiation. over the years I have been in and out of employment due to several debilitating side effects from chemotherapy ect! Plus certain life events, always claiming the disability premium.

Since 2006 my symptoms have spiralled out of control. I have been suffering from debilitating pain
Have osteoporosis Osteoarthritis in spine causing deformity of the spine, hyper mobility in elbow causing golfers elbow pain muscles knees hands feet.
I have had persistent high blood pressure since 2006 suffer severe pain & fatigue and have POTS like symptoms.
Extreme Anxiety and don't get out as its too hard.
In addition I am hard of hearing have skin problems ect plus
I was up until the end of February working for my husbands limited company that allowed me to physically work from my bed. answer emails ect
which became physically & mentally draining.

Due to different factors within the construction industry ie not getting paid on time or not at all.
£4000 worth of materials being stolen from a site.
My husband He lost all his good workers so had to physically carry the contracted cladding works in severe weather conditions.
It became apparent we could no longer carry on.
Aside from cash flow problems it became physically & mentally draining dealing with the business & was put into liquidation at the end of February.
in December my husband had a diagnosis of arthritis in both knees as he knee has become weak and swollen he may have same in his fingers.

We went to the the CAB who helped us make a joint claim for ESA via the telephone we recieved notes of the telephone conversation.

They sent me a decision today which says they have awarded us £114.85 a week from 11th April the rates of ss benefits may change!

they cannot pay the first 7 days it goes onto say the assessment was based on how much the law says you need to live on & your national insurance contributions.

•Your partner may be required to take part in work focused interview with a personal adviser.
Once they have been claiming ESA for more than
26 weeks your partner will be notified if they are required to attend.

•to continue to receive employment & support allowance you may need to take part in work focused interview with a personal adviser. you will be notified of this separately if you are required to attend.

I'm confused as I recieved the ESA50 04/15
Questionnaire.

Is this the standard way of dealing with new ESA claims?

I also recieved the dreaded invitation to apply for PIP
Which I made the call on Friday. & am awaiting the form.
Sorry if I sound thick I have tried to read the information.
And thank you for being here.

Many Thanks Cx

Strictly speaking you have not had a Decision all that has happened is that the DWP have accepted your claim, the £114.85 is couples rate of the Personal Allowance, you will receive this while you are in the Assessment phase and until a Decision is made on your claim.

Have a look at our ESA guides for a better understanding of the process and how to complete the ESA50. See

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/esa1

If you have more questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

Hi thanks for the reply.
I have been looking through the guides wow there's lots to take in.

This morning I received a letter from the pip department that states,

Thank you for your recent request for us to re use your DVLA file but no evidence was present.
Therefore no medical evidence has been forwarded to the PIP Benifit centre. You can however send in copies of any further evidence you already have and this will be considered in your claim to pip.

I have just recieved the form, a week later so don't know what they mean. is this a standard letter when transferring over from DLA to Pip.

Many Thanks Cx

It's a standard letter but not one we see often. When you made your claim for PIP you must have said that you wanted them to use the evidence from your DLA claim in regard to your PIP one, the letter is saying that they have looed for this but the evidence is not available and you will need to provide more up to date evidence for your claim.

Hi there,
I have filled my ESA500 sent that off a week ago.

Then last week I filled my Claim form transferring from Dvla to PIP.

I have been on Dvla mobility component for 26 years now I was given an indefinite award. Actually when I was given the award it stated until the year 2050 at some point changed to indefinite award. I don't think I was expected to survive after acute lymphoblastic leukaemia my best chance was to have a bone marrow transplant.

Around ten years ago my health dramatically deteriorated. Due to my bones thinning My spine has fused parts have collapsed my short term memory is rubbish item forgetting what I'm saying or can't get the words out ect due to cranial Iradiation as part of the BMT I'm hard of hearing amongst other things.
While filling my ESA form it asked about cancer treatments and effects from treatment asking my GP to fill it in which he did
(He is my new doctor due to my old one retiring)
He put that the effects from cancer treatment are
Deafness wears hearing aids in both ears along with the consultants letter Osteoporosis and Pain spinal issues Fibromyalgia along with consultants letters.
limited when walking.

My question is regarding any special circumstances
I'm sure I have read something somewhere
about rule regarding effects from treatments I don't know if it's ESA or pip but I have put a printout of the effects of treatment ESA claim form into my pip claim.

Is there anyone who could help break it down for me. The special circumstances part thanks a lot.
Pec Sorry it long winded

Many Thanks Cx

I think you may be talking about the Exceptional Circumstances, this is covered in the ESA Claim guide, there's a section for the WRAG and one for the Support Group. See
