DLA to PIP Mobility Over 65

They said she could walk between 50 and 200 meters despite noting that she walked slowly with a slight limping gait. It also states that she has a weakness in her lower limb but they decided on the 50-200 meters. She asked for an MR about 6 weeks ago but she has not had a decision yet. I expect it will be for the same period as the Daily Living Award, but the DWP are reassessing claimants a year early.

There are enough differences in the DLA and PIP criteria that a DLA HRM award would not necessarily result in a PIP Standard Mobility Award, but we would expect most to be considered as unable to walk more than 50m.

Two things to look at; the PIP Claim guide for "reliably" and the "majority of days" and there is a DLA guide for defending an HRM award that might help with thing such as speed and gait.
