I am afraid the legislation does not allow an extension of the period to make the phone call, however, if you do not make the call by the required date then although your DLA payments will be suspended, you will be given a further four weeks to start a PIP claim, if your do then any missed DLA will repaid.
After this second four weeks, if you have not started a PIP claim, then your DLA claim will be closed, so it is really important that you do it be this second date, you will receive notice of this in writing.

But what letter have I been sent? Is it an invite?
As want consultants details, so is it part of the pip test? Do I need to take part in a phone interview,? Of the back of this letter? I have not seen it.

We have no way of knowing if this is an invite letter but from what you have posted it seems consistent with one. You obviously know that a letter has arrived, why can't someone bring it in to you?
There is a small interview when you make the initial call, it's covered in the PIP Claim guide.

I was in respite ..
it is a changing from dla to pip invite letter.... about as clear as mud..
one of my carers rang them by the letters deadline,
to be told a form would be sent in 2 weeks time then i would be sent for a assessment .
when do i ask for an extension ... is one requested when sending back the forms?
