Although the DWP should notify HMRC this does not remove the need for you/her need to notify HMRC.
I'm afraid we do not advise on tax on the forum.
Just because her ESA(CB) is liable to tax does not mean that she will pay any, it will depend on whether her taxable income exceeds her Personal Allowance, I would try an get face to face advice from the CAB.

This morning I received a capability for work questionnaire, it has been awhile since I've filled one out. I will go through the members guides here very carefully before I fill anything in. But what I am unsure about is how my health has changed. I suffer with mental health difficulties for nearly a decade now. I've always had somatic symptoms with that too. But, I developed a condition where I struggle to walk, my gait has changed, I also experience a lot of pain both at rest and walking. Sometimes I lose my balance without warning and now that the weather is colder that affects me too. I've had various tests via a neurologist and they believe this due to my mental health difficulties. But how do I fill this out on the form, does this class as something that goes in the physical section or do I just put it in the notes?
Thanks for your help.

All you can do is explain the issue as best you can but be aware the ESA legislation clearly separates physical and mental health issues from each other, you will only score points for your walking problems if the underlying condition is a physical one.
Also ESA is not a walking test, it is a Mobility test! In addition to your walking it considers your ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair over the same distances, you do not need to be using a wheelchair or even to own one for it to be considered. SO even if you can show your walking is restricted, unless you can also show that you cannot self-propel the wheelchair you will still not score points.

Thank you Gordon. So i'll stick with putting this in the part of how your condition affects you section, because it is a symptom of my mental health really.
