Hello my son takes a huge mixed cocktail of psychotic medication, & pain killers all in very high doses and various other medication for Crohns. This obviously has a very sedative side effects to his daily life, but they are necessary.
He gets high rate Motability and care at present and shortly will be undoing his pip review. This medication does not obviously help his mobility which is already seriously impaired by longstanding hip problems. He is still in severe pain due to not being able to have steroid enjections any longer due to there long term side effects and has to be pushed in a wheelchair 100% of the time when out doors.my question is having read supporting notes on your guides does the fact he has to use high doses of medication actually work against him when it comes to mobility part of PIP. Having only just getting to grips with this new and very confusing test I apologise if the answer is obvious but clarification and advise would be helpful.
I would add how any one could attempt to get through the maze of confusing questions without your guides would practically impossible.

If his medication is prescribed then the effects it has on his ability to complete each of the PIP activities must be considered by those assessing him.
Just so you are aware, PIP does not consider the usage of a wheelchair in regard the Moving Around activity, you must explain why he cannot stand and walk outside or the distance that he can "reliably" and "on the majority of days" stand and walk.
