Hi Gordon
I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who can't afford to go online. She's been refused ESA after a F2F in September, and I've told her about MR. However, despite sending documentation to the DWP, Housing Benefit and HMRC of the small Local Government pension she gets on numerous previous occasions, they have accused her of fraud and want the money repaid. She's already sent them bank statements from the Pension Department of the Borough she used to work for which clearly state that what she's getting from them IS a small pension, but the DWP, HMRC and the Borough concerned insist that this money is a wage and that she is 'employed'. This seems to be something that's happening more and more frequently, can you point out a course of action she should take.
PS, the HB department accusing her of being employed and getting a 'wage' is next door to the Pension department paying her pension!

They need to get face to face advice from a trained advisor, do an internet search for "welfare advice" with their postcode, town or county.
