Help with WCA form frequency for dx MS ... was created by 2loula
Hi. I am feeling sick again since the dreaded envelope landed on my doormat, my conditions relapsed due to the stress caused last time.
Is it really true that despite being awarded EESA after sending back my forms less than a year ago 25/2/2016 I now have to get someone to do them all again for me by 6/2/2017.
My (main) conditions include:-
Multiple Sclerosis over 20 years (MS has been in the news as it does not get better saying patients should not be harassed into WCA or form filling!!!)
I also have had Fibromyalgia for over 20years
I have botox for Intractable Migraines.
Cognitive memory problems with anxiety & depression.
I had breast cancer & bilateral mastectomy nearly 3 years ago.
Can anyone explain to me if this is correct?, & if not what do I do?
Thanks in advance

I'm afraid all ESA claims will be reassessed on a regular basis, whatever their conditions, periods are as short as three months and a maximum of two years for the WRAG and three years for the Support Group.
The period is set based on the perceived likelihood of the claimants conditions changing, for the better of the worse, or the possibility of the claimants adapting to their problems and therefore the impact on their ability to complete the ESA activities being reduced.
This is a full reassessment of your claim and you should treat is as a new claim for ESA and complete the form in detail. You should submit any relevant evidence that you have even if you have submitted it before.
As to your receiving yet another assessment, all I can suggest is that you contact your MP, but I am not hopeful that it will make any difference and unless you receive the cancellation of the assessment in writing you must participate or you risk your claim being closed
Contacting your MP
There have been updates to the DWP guidance for ESA over the last year so please make sure that you use the latest Claim guides to help you complete the form.

Hi Gordon,
Thanks for your reply.
I am in the support group & my carer thought it should be 3 yearly, I would be truly grateful for any thoughts or advice.
Kind regards

Hi Louise,
The maximum Support Group award, under normal circumstances, is 3 years but anything from 3 months upwards is allowed.
