Is my husband entitled to benefits was created by snowbaby
My husband is 64yrs, 65 in August 17. He took a massive heart attack in Oct 16 and has had 2 stents inserted. He is diabetic and asthmatic. Unfortunately, he has been left very breathless and takes panic attacks, feeling very vulnerable. At the moment he is receiving statutory sick pay, which is £88 a week. His job is very stressful and he does not feel he could cope with the fast pace of work anymore. Does anyone know if he would be entitled to any financial help? The PIP form does not seem to cover his problems. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

If his doctor is prepared to continue to issue Fit Notes then he can make a claim for ESA from the day after his SSP ends, the claim can be submitted a couple of weeks in advance.
If he has been left with disabilities then PIP may also be something to look at, there will need to be a reasonable expectation that his problems will exist for at least another nine months.
You can also put your financial information into one of the online benefit calculators.
