How long does the procedure for a mandatory review and then the tribunal review take? My Bipolar fluctuates, at the moment I am well, and yesterday very unwell. The cycles are changing rapidly and I am moving from one bipolar state to the other at a fast pace. When I am well I look like I can manage almost everything and therefore I am having difficulties with this fluctuating condition. If I am well on the day of the interview my illness will seem unreal.

There is no fixed timescale for an MR or an appeal.

Typically MRs take 5-8 weeks, they can be as short as a couple of weeks and they can stretch to 2-3 months.

You can't appeal until an MR has been completed, we are currently seeing appeals take 2-2 months depending on the region, 6 months at the outside.
