Hi, This is not for me personally, but for a friend, who has very bad learning difficulties, she has been mistreated at a home PIP assessment, and was of course refused PIP, at even lower levels, my question is. Does PIP accommodate people with these disabilities or are they now being disregarded in the system, this girls behaviour is difficult to diagnose as she got it into her head that she did not need help and would try to deal with the transfer from DLA to PIP herself, she should NOT have been assessed with out advise and help, she is part of her problems, she tries but anyone with an ounce of decency would have seen this and not have taken advantage. I do not know enough about these disorders to help her. she has also just lost her father, with her assessment carried out the day after the funeral, which did not help, (her Father managed a lot of her paper work)

There is no reason why they could not receive an award with these problems, whether they should or not is another matter and I obviously dependant on how badly affected they are.

I agree that they need advice, places to check would be any charities that specialise in their conditions and you can also do an internet search for "welfare advice" with their postcode, town or county.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
