Pip assessment and note taking

Hi, I had my pip reassessment today.
My partner came with me and before the assessment began, he told the assessor that he would be tasking notes. The assessor was very abrupt and said that's ok, but it a legal requirement that he take photocopies of all notes before we leave.
He did this the reception area, then came out to me and asked me to sign a waiver form. I did this, the assessment was very stressful and I just wanted to go.
When we got home we checked on the Atos website which states that photocopies are not needed. I phoned Atos to complain, they didn't know why he had done this, they then phoned the assessment centre to find out what I had signed. It was called an unsolicited further medical evidence form, and apparently the assessor was sending my partners notes, along with this form to the DWP. I feel the assessor was very underhanded, he made it quite clear from his manner, in the assessment, that he disapproved of my partners note taking. What are your thoughts on this? The assessment itself was also extremely stressful, completely different to the first one I had.
Thank you for any replies,
Mrs J.

What you have been told, the second time, is correct, claimants or their companions are perfectly entitled to make notes during the assessment, the Assessment Provider has no legal authority to take a copy of the notes and there was no requirement for you to sign any sort of release.

Having your notes sent to the DWP may be to your advantage, especially if they are at odds with the report!

You might want to formalise the complaint by making it in writing.
