pip newcastle telephone call trying to do a deal

I have just received a telephone call from newcastle pip department offering to give my wife an additional 6 points on mobility taking her upto standard mobility on pip. said i am happy to go to the tribunal and see what the judge says.It seems that the department is seeking to do deals with claimants before the tribunal as it wants to save face anybody else had a similar experience? would appreciate your experiences.We are 2 points off the enhanced rate i.e. able to plan a journey strange how the isa assessment said my wife memory loss effects her ability to focus on a given subject yet the pip assessment nurse said completely the opposite.

Many thanks for your response, the strange thing is that the information submitted initially has not changed so my belief is that as the date is now looming for the tribunal hearing they seemed to me anyway to show that they have a week hand.The strange thing is that they were only 2 points off awarding the enhanced rate on the mobility why take the chance that the tribunal would award at a minimum the 4 points taking us to 14 points with the offer on the table the lady stated she would be informing the judge of the proposal the dwp have made?We have a case where my wife has had enhanced rate for 5 years then with dal moving to pip the goalposts have been taken off the pitch but we have to dip assessment reports that basically completely contradict each other i suppose on the day we will know whats what.
