ATOS Assessor Report Content was created by Victoria Priestley
Good afternoon everyone. I was wondering if anyone has had a report from ATOS which includes fictional accounts i.e detail of events that never took place? My report states that I removed my two hearing aids and clearly demonstrated I could not hear the assessor from any distance. I have a 95 DCB loss and no, I would not have been able to hear the assessor, not even with lipreading, however, on the day I wore one aid! My right ear was hurting! And I did not take my left ear aid out. Further, the report states 'the claimant consented to a physical examination' and what follows is some detail of that examination. I did not consent, and there wasn't a physical examination. This is all at the Tribunal Stage now, and in the DWP defence they say that if I have any issues with the report I should contact the service provider. I disagree. I do not have a contract with the service provider (as a TU rep in my last full time job they were affectionately known as Couldn't Give A Toss). The DWP have a contract with them. It is not for me to contact a third party. DWP should raise this on my behalf. I have to say the assessment itself wasn't unpleasant, the assessor was a paramedic, there was rapport, and I can see from several of the categories he did not tick 'can perform activity unaided /unassisted', and I believe that was because he took on board what I was saying. However, that information gets through to ATOS, and a question is automatically generated 'if box is not ticked, explain why', and more inaccuracies, made up statements are inserted . Whatever the outcome of the appeal on payments, I want answers about this, because it shows that the system is unsafe. The reports should be sent with all DWP decisions, it was only their allusion to a Musco Skeletal Overview, spelling 'world' backwards, and 'several sevens' that prompted my request for a copy. What a lot of rubbish.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

I'm afraid it is not unusual for us to hear of discrepancies in the assessment report.

Whilst I appreciate where you are coming from in regard to a complaint, the DWP are not going to deal with problems in the report, you need to make the complaint to the Assessment Provider.

Although it can be tempting to lead with the problems in the report, a Tribunal will only be interested in whether you meet the criteria for an award, so you should concentrate on showing that this is the case.

I suggest that you go through your PIP2, the assessment report and our PIP Claim guide to show that you meet the criteria to score the points you need for an award.

Thanks Gordon, I may change my identity, I may not, historically I have always used my name for comments. I've a friend who has been through the DLA to PIP process, successfully, she has helped me and I found a lot (an awful lot) of information on this site which is highly recommended. Someone will be with me this time, at the assessment, who knows me well, and it is 'heads together' this Friday. V.
