Good recent PIP award and new ESA claim was created by Teacher5
I received my ESA work capability form the same day as my PIP decision letter. In the PIP letter it said they had decided I was not able to walk more than 20 meters. I don't use a wheelchair or walking sticks as I get pain and numbness in my hands and arms with repetitive movements and have a medical letters explaining this.
I've just sent the ESA form off with all my medical letters and reports including the PIP award and Atos assessment report. I am really hoping that I might be able to avoid another face to face assessment.
I realize both assessments look at different things but as being able to walk no more than 50 meters is a support group descriptor, I'm wondering if the DWP will take into account their recent decision on my mobility limitations.
Has anyone else been in this situation? I'd be really grateful for any advice!

ESA is not a walking test, it is a Mobility test! In addition to your walking it considers your ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair over the same distances, you do not need to be using a wheelchair or even to own one for it to be considered. SO even if you can show your walking is restricted, unless you must also show that you cannot self-propel a wheelchair.

Great. Hopefully I should be ok then as my medical letters confirm I can't use my hands for repetive movements due to pain and numbness. Thanks!
