PIP Mandatory Reconsideration was created by DRAGON2009
I had a good result with PIP , just a point short of the enhanced daily living but needed 4 physical points for standard mobility . Put in an MR and have been waiting close to a month. Had a Text message from PIP DWP today asking me to call them in the next 3 days to the normal helpline.
Is this the normal thing ? I have certainly specified very effectively where I think I was under scored and I was clear in endorsing the assessment as a fair overall record of the session.
Might they ask me a pivotal question ? Might they want to explain an adverse decision "? Surely if I was going to get an improved outcome by my MR they would not call me at all ?

Is it better to keep it in writing ? or am I perhaps as good as obliged to go with the call back request ?

Any pointers would be appreciated

They may be contacting you to clarify the content of you MR letter.

My advice is to take the call, I can't remember anybody who has changed the Decision by entering into written correspondence with the DWP, wherever members have reported similar circumstances and not taken the call, the original Decision has been upheld and they have had to go to appeal.
