How long does it take to get ESA decision?

Hi, this is my first post but I would like to thank the BW people for all the resources made available.

Not sure if anyone knows the answer but any help appreciated, I completed and sent in my ESA50 form and had confirmation over the phone it was received. It's been nearly 11 weeks and still I have heard nothing from DWP or Capita. Meanwhile I had my PIP F2F one week after applying, not had decision yet but it's been just 2 weeks since the PIP assessment.

Does the ESA decision process normally take this long? I'm based in Swansea but have no idea what the norm is.

Thanks Gordon I didn't realise there was such a delay. Since I completed the ESA50 forms, my ENT consultant told me I cannot drive and the DVLA have stopped my licence, should I contact DWP and tell them this as well?
