Hi
I was awarded PIP three years ago and looking at my paper work the award letter says it ends early December 2017.

What happens then. I have heard nothing from them. will they contact me at some point in the future, for a reassessment or will my benefits come to an end in December and I will end up destitute and homeless.

I suffer from depression and severe anxiety as well as mobility issues. I am starting to shut down already, worrying about what my happen or may not.

Can someone advise what will happen and what if anything I should be doing at this point.

I am under the care of my local mental health team and am due to see them end of August.

The check points for the DWP looking at your claim again are; one year, which obviously has not happened and 13 weeks before the end of the award. If you have not heard from them in early September then you may need to initiate the review yourself, contact the DWP and ask to make an advanced claim for PIP.

Your payments will stop at the end of this award so make sure you keep an eye on the calendar.

How do I make an advanced claim for PIP.

I am going to read the latest guides on PIP as I assume the rules have completely changed since my original claim.

I had help from someone at the CAB to fill in my form, so I will ask them again.

I have misread the award letter for my claim, it ends in November so I had better contact them in the next week or so.

Be aware the call centre staff are not used to claimants making advanced claims so if you have problems then escalate the problem to a supervisor, this may require a call back.
