It's actually the ESA report that is usually not released until a Decision is made, you can request your PIP report by contacting the DWP office dealing with your claim, I would leave it a couple of days from the assessment before making the request to make sure that it is registered as received by the DWP.

Hi Gordon and Mrs H.
Have received copy of assessment report conducted by an HP at my home, just want to clarify if possible, does the DM go by the boxes ticked by the hp on the report in making their decision on my award, or is this likely to change? I'm awaiting Dwp letter for award now.

DWP do not have to go with the assessor's recommendation - but it is very unusual for them to do otherwise.
