ESA CB coming to an end? was created by saz
Hello - I would like to ask some advice please. I have been off work sick for a year now and this situation is not going to improve. I am basically unable to work due to long-standing, serious health problem.
I have been in receipt of ESA CB for the past year in the WRAG group. I have savings just over £16k therefore I am not eligible to claim ESA IR or HB once the year is up to help with rent and such like.
Am I eligible to claim any other benefits that I dont know about? Obviously it is not ideal that I am unable to work due to sickness but I cant get out of this bind. Thankyou

Hi Sally,

Do you claim DLA/PIP? You could be entitled to this if you have long-term care and/or mobility problems. Have a look at our PIP guide if you do not currently claim and are not sure if you might qualify.

The other thing you can do is to put your figures into one of the benefit checkers to see if there is anything you might be able to claim.

Your ESA claim will remain live and NI credits will be given - but you will not be paid anything until your savings drop below the threshold or you are allocated to the Support Group at a future assessment :(

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
