Half rate vehicle tax standard rate mobility pip

I am in receipt of pip standard rate mobility which entitles me to half rate car tax. As I had a new car last year I had to send off v5, pip entitlement notice, v10 and cheque. My tax renewal has just come through at the full rate with no explanation on how to renew it at half rate. I rung dvla & it is actually really easy to renew it -send back v11, pip entitlement notice & cheque for half rate. My gripe is that I was unable to find this info either on line or in paperwork and had to telephone to ask what to do.
So can we publicise on this site how simple it is to renew half rate vehicle tax?

Thank you .
I have just sent an email to admin. I'm sure so many people must be missing out on this benefit which is really simple to get when you know what to do!

Hi, I don't drive, but get pip standard mobility, can we apply for this on my partners car? Sorry if this is a stupid question! He does live with me.

In principle yes, but be aware that there is a requirement for the car to be of benefit to you and not just for the use of your partner. There is no clear definition of what this means in practice.

Every year the dvla will send a tax renewal at full rate. On the dvla web page it tells u what to send for the half rate. V5 ,copy of DWP letter, insurance and MOT certificate, and a cheque for half the tax. It's a bit stupid as most of the details are on their database, but I suppose it's to make you work for your reduction. I just send all that's required,no quibble,it gets renewed at the half rate. Well worth 10 minutes gathering the information. By the way you cannot do this at a post office it must be sent to Swansea. All paperwork is returned. For a few minutes work you cannot get paid this much!!
