In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

There are three scenarios potentially;

- By far and away the most likely is that you have been selected at random for the pleasure of a review.
- It could be that that you have been reported, some 95% of these reports are either malicious or made in error, unfortunately the DWP are obliged to investigate each one.
- Lastly it's possible that something has been flagged to the DWP, have you had any large payments or regular payments recently?

You can have someone with you at the interview, whether it is at their offices or at your home and I would advice you to do this, if only for moral support.

Apart from that there is little advice that I can offer, I still have my stomach turn over every time I get a brown envelope, so there is probably little that I can say which will help you with your nerves over this, perhaps the only thing I can say, is not to tackle it on your own if you can avoid doing so.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

I have moved your post to it's topic, we ask members not to post their questions in other's topics as it can lead to the wrong advice being taken or given.

Forgive me, I understand that you may be upset by this letter, but you quote a previous response from me that explains why someone might be invited to a compliance meeting and your question is why you might have been invited to one of these meetings. :)

You can phone the DWP and ask for a fuller explanation of why you have been asked to attend this meeting.

Hello Tanya,

Just read your post, so perhaps you have met with the compliance officer by now. If not do be aware that yes this is a fraud interview. I was dragged before one and questioned as to whether me and my flat mate were living as man and wife. After a huge laugh because we are both men, I realised that yes this was serious and went for the interview. I explained that no were not and showed him the estate agents plans for my flat clearly showing two bedrooms, but he kept on. He wanted to know if we used the washing machine together! I gave him a little lesson ( he looked about 12! ) about separating the whites, darks and colours and said that of course I would put some of my flatmates washing in, rather than putting on a load half full to save money. He kept on asking questions and at the end said that the matter would be referred to a decision maker. After several weeks I contacted them to ask their decision and they would not tell me. All I know now 9 months later is that they did not pursue this matter as I never heard from them again. I found a lot of information on the mumsnet blog and all said that if you pass the test, so to speak, you will never be told. Dont worry this is normal. Its like they dont want to admit they boobed. But it also leaves you with a waiting and wondering feeling. My advice, dont worry and sing and laugh.

Beragon.
