PIP was created by Healing Concepts
Hello,
I'm making enquiries on behalf of a friend. She attended Doctors for many years and became heavily medicated; morphine patches, anti-depressants. Each time her condition deteriorated she was given more tablets. It got to a stage all she wanted to do and was capable of was sleeping!!
She was a young woman who wanted to live to see grandchildren and engage more with life and decided to gradually come off medication, which she did do over a period of months. Replacing medication with supplements, herbs and eating loads of fruit and vegetables. She began to feel a lot better and was able to hold conversations and enjoy reading again. She still has limitations in her ability to walk and becomes fatigued easily requiring some help with activities of daily living. She no longer takes medication and rarely goes to her GP and no longer attends specialists.
My question is what does she do in relation to gathering evidence? The fact she isn't taking 'medication' will this go against her? The supplements and herbs she uses is substantial and expensive, but she insists that she will never take prescribed medication ever again.

It won't help but it may not prevent a successful claim, she will need to substitute detailed testimony of her problems in completing the PIP activities for the missing medical evidence.

She will also need to explain what appears to be an improvement in her health, at least in regard to her pain.

You don't mention her condition and these are not always important but in this case they may be, does she have any diagnosis letters and are the conditions ones likely to improve?
