My friend went through a tortuous eight months waiting to hear about ESA. He has been place in the support group and back dated payments made but he is worried that it will end in four months time because he was told by an advice work that it only lasts for 12 - 18 months. Can anyone help with find information. He still is not well and unlikely to recover in the near future

ESA awards are indefinite but with regular reassessment, these can be from any time after three months have elapsed from the Decision to two years for the WRAG and three years for the Support Group.
Your friend can contact the DWP office dealing with their claim and ask for their reassessment date, it should be showing on their computer record.
