Judges direction notice was created by Beragon
Just wanted you to know that if the wait for the appeal ( 6 months for the Bristol centre ) is too long (then for a good enuf reason! ) you can apply to the Court for a speedy hearing. I did this and the Judge issued a Direction Notice saying the DWP had to reply in two weeks. That was three weeks ago, still no reply from them.
I have just phoned the Court and Tribunal Service and was told if they have not replied by Wednesday next week ( Today is Thursday ) the judge will issue an order for the appeal to take place with no response from the DWP.
I will let you know how I get on, but of course still have to unravel the pack of lies they have already submitted in the Mandy. ( Mandatory Reconsideration )

Sorry but I'm confused!

The Tribunal Service would not contact the DWP in order to schedule a speedy hearing, your post suggests that the DWP had not provided their submission within the normal one month allowed, this is very different.

Hello Gordon,

What happened was that I phoned the Court and Tribunal centre in Cardiff in the middle of August after receiving the appeal letter dated 1st August. I explained that as I had been claiming benefits for many years, I was living week to week It had taken the DWP two months to do the M Con and he told me it would take six months to get to court. He then suggested I write to the court and my letter would be put before a judge. I got a copy of a letter from the Court to the DWP called a direction notice, which told the DWP they needed to reply in 2 weeks or the case would be heard without their final evidence ( what ever that might be ) Their time was up on 1st September. I phoned the court again today ( 7th Sept and still no word from the DWP. The clerk told me that they would give the DWP until tomorrow to reply and then this would go back to the Judge next week who would set a court date and if the DWP had not replied by then, then the case would be heard anyway. He said the court took a dim view of the DWP ignoring their direction notice, but it happens all the time.
