HELP & ADVICE PIP RENEWAL was created by Lea
I have today received a letter stating my current PIP award payment is to end in December 2017, it also goes on to state that if I wish to claim again I will have to make a NEW Claim.
Is this correct, as I was under the impression I would be sent the renewal forms or when I call will they then send me the new AR1 renewal form. OR have I got to make a fresh claim again.

Members help and guidance would be much appreciated before I call them as I can feel myself getting stressed already. TIA

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

Some awards, particularly ones that resulted from a Tribunal are not being automatically renewed by the DWP.

However the process is not significantly different although the time to do it is. Contact the DWP PIP Claim line and start a new claim, the questions will be the same as the first time you claimed, our PIP Claim guide has a list of these and the number to call.

You will need to manage the situation carefully, as your current payments will stop in December so you will need to get the new PIP2 back as quickly as possible to avoid an interruption to your payments.

Thank you for your reply Gordon.
I'm still slightly confused as my current PIP Claim had never been referred to a Tribunal, so really not sure what's going on.

I'm afraid we might never know the rationale behind this :(

Was your award for less than two years? This is another reason we have seen cause this situation.
