You have come so far so don't give up now, the panel are independent from the DWP and will have a doctor on it who should have a proper understanding of your conditions at the limitations that can result from them.

Tribunals do not have to be stressful. You have already done all the hard work, filling in the form, collecting and submitting your evidence so don't give up now. You do not have to submit any new evidence. Just a simple request, with your reasons for appeal starts the process.

They will send you a copy of all the evidence in your claim so you don't have to find it all again.

The problem with most claims that don't suceed is not the evidence, but the way it is read. Your submission should be "idiot proof" point them to each part of your evidence that is relevant to each descriptor

Ohhhhhhh Gail.......PLEASE DO NOT GIVE UP!!!!!!

I've been through this horrifying and soul destroying process which ended recently. After 8 months of hell and wondering about all the what ifs it finally ended 5 weeks ago but in my favour!

I'd only been 2 measly points short in the getting around section to be able to keep my Motability car, TWO that was all. After handing my car back months ago and going through the mandatory reconsideration business first THEN the application to be allowed to go to a tribunal about it to finally be told the DWP or whoever decides these things, agreed I could do the tribunal thing, the day finally arrived.

Yes, it was stressful all the way along for the entire 8 months since I'd returned my PIP2 forms and evidence etc. And yes the day was even more so albeit the panel consisting of a very nice doctor, judge and disabilities expert did their best to put me at my ease, enforcing the point that they are totally independent of the DWP and they would not be asking any trick questions.

Admittedly I was fortunate to have my husband by my side for the whole process and I'd have been lost without all his help formulating letters etc. And my GP did an amazing letter for me which definitely helped.

You say you have nobody to help you and you have my sympathy for that BUT Gail, why not pop along to the CAB and see if there's anybody there who could help you and maybe be able to strike up a rapport with them so that they could go with you on the day for moral support if nothing else?

But please Gail, whatever you do DON'T GIVE UP because that's exactly what the DWP hopes we'll all do! I came close to giving in several times because my conditions are made so much worse by stress and my husband could see this. So he frequently said that I didn't have to go through with this, but I stood firm, (as firm as my wobbly legs allow lol), in my resolve because it had got to be more a matter of principle than anything about finances or whether or not I'd be able to get my Motability back. Getting those much needed points was just the icing on the cake to be honest to be able to get back my little bit of independence knowing that if I was up to going somewhere and wanted to, I would no longer have to make sure my husband didn't need his car first.

Hang in there Gail, PLEASE. If nothing else, you can pretty much guarantee that you've get everybody on this forum rooting for you! You're really not alone.

Good luck
Hippychick
