As per the latest news letter, I seriously considered requesting my PIP tribunal be recorded. The first barrier was that when reading through the small print, it indicated that you would most lokely have to wait much longer for your tribunal to take place and that not all assessment centres had a recording facility!
Like the majority of the population, I do not own professional recording equipment and I also worried that if I requested recordings be made, that I would antagonise the panel by appearing combative.
As it turned out, I went ahead without recording. The head of the panel comgratulated me on my written submissions accompanying my application, but I regarded that as a criticism because despite also commenting that I was presenting myself well for someone who " finds it difficult to interact with strangers" ( I have Aspergers) they were appearing to infer that I had exaggerated my problems!
In the end, I was given an award for 10 years, although whether this notice is worth the paper its written on, only time will tell! PIP administration is being devolved to here in Scotland soon, but with the DWP continually moving the goalposts, who knows if I will be exempt from recall before then?
