Hello
Do I need to inform DWP if I undertake any voluntary work? I have been offered a befriending role, which will involve visiting an older person for an hour to an hour and a half per week to have a cup of tea and a chat with them. I will be able to claim mileage expenses to and from the clients house.

If you are claiming ESA then yes you do. They will send you a VOL1 form to complete.
