PIP Appeal is happening next week!

My appeal date is next week; its been a long road and still with no end in sight. Capita closed my complaint! They insist they sent a final letter, but in fact I have never received it and quite conveniently neither has my local MP. Disgusted with the fact they can treat you like a piece of garbage and walk away claiming I didn't respond to their final letter. I do not hold out much hope for the appeal as this is bound to arise in view of the medical assessment being the crux of the appeal. Will try and keep you posted but I am very poorly and got to have an angiogram two days after the appeal - timing is not ideal but it is an urgent procedure. Who would have thought I needed such a procedure in view of Capita's 'experienced' assessor awarding me 0 points.

You may be surprised, appeal panels take a much more balanced approach to looking at the evidence before them than the DWP DM.

Good luck

My appeal heariang was today at 11am. Can you believe I was contacted by telephone at 9.30am to say a decision had been made and I did not need to attend. I have been awarded the enhanced Daily Living rate, so at long last I am back to where I was when receiving DLA.
It has been just over one year of constant arguments, worry and stress, which has impacted significantly on my health and I do not know if DWP will appeal the decision made by the tribunal. For now I am enjoying some respite from the worry of it all. This website and forum has been invaluable and I am truly grateful to you and the work you do. Its not been possible to post very often over the last year as my vision has been so affected but you are all always in my thoughts. Thank you so much and I fully intend to keep my membership as your service is invaluable.
