Hi folks
I'm new to the forum. I was wondering has anyone out there had experience of either receiving or getting refused PIP with CRPS formerly known as Causalgia?

Hopefully other members will comment but PIP is not about your conditions, it's about the limitations that result from them.

Have you looked at our PIP Claim guide?

My wife has CRPS together with other conditions. The main issues with CRPS is that impose a condition of pain meaning that even with the medication taken she is still in pain. You can note the Mac Gill scale of pain and point out that even with medication you are in a serious pain scale 22 eg to the level of a broken bone .This obviously restrict the use of that part of the body and impose restriction on use.Another point is the strong medication usually progabalin and tramadole used to ease the pains have PLENTY other adverse effects on the mental status ,cognitive ability etc.To help yourself look at the guidelines for PIP in this site because are THEY ARE PERFECT and google the side effects of applicable medication and see what is applicable in your case .

Listen it is a lot tricky over there as the HP are not there to realistically assess your disability but their prime objective is to reject you.So regardless whatever you say they will try to object your .My wife took also a letter from her GP stating that she is unable to move more than 20 meters at a time without significant pain and discomfort.Go to guidelines of this site and see what is applicable in your case .BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WRITE DOWN ON THE QUESTIONNAIRE AND TRY TO COVER THE SUBJECT FROM ALL ASPECTS.YES SHE GOT ENHANCED mobility .
