@ Gordon Could you possibly why from January our ESA is been cut? Is it because we got higher rate PIP daily living component upgrade. Its cut of £70 a week....Just got the letter today and had no time to ring them. Anyone else get such letters after getting higher rate PIP living, we standard rate mobility component

Not really :( £70 is more than the Premiums and less than the allowances. If it was just over £60 then it could be connected to the Severe Disability Premium if it was in payment, but that is just a guess and you will only know by phoning the DWP.

We found out its because I applied for the carers allowance, they see that as money coming and deduct it from our ESA. Its case of taking from one pocket putting it another. So in essence the hassle of applying for carers allowance was not worth it as we gained nothing. Strange system...and complex

@Gordon can we get Carer Premium on the ESA our ESA is means tested and if so must we apply for that separately now that I have carers allowance...thanks

Yes you should be receiving the Carers Premium of about £34 per week, if you are not then contact the DWP office dealing with your ESA.
