I could swear that I read somewhere that the Secretary of State can mandate a particular type of work for the WRAG. Is this true? Does anyone know of any examples of this being done?

I so desperately want to avoid a tribunal. I just can't face any more courts after being the victim of a violent crime and a witness in the trial about it. I want to go back to uni part-time (1 day a week for only 27 weeks of the year for 2 years), and study. I think it will be good for my self-esteem and mental health. I am desperately casting about for how to make this happen, without leaving the benefits system unitl, if ever, I am actually able to earn a living.

You cannot be required to work or even to seek work while you are in the WRAG, your JC+ advisor may push for you to do voluntary work but cannot mandate it, there used to be a specific form of voluntary work that could be mandated, but I have not heard of this happening for several years.

You can do Permitted Work, there is a guide in the ESA section, but you need to ensure that any work that you do does not contradict the reasons why you have been placed in the WRAG and whilst your starting PW should not result in a reassessment, your doing the work will be considered when you are next assessed.
