Not sure if I am entering this into the correct thread. After a very long wait I received my Tribunal date on Saturday morning. It is just over 3 weeks time and I am already feeling terribly anxious.

Can anyone clarify if the Tribunal ever make a decision prior to the date and contact the applicant to say there is no need to attend. I am sure I read this at some point but have no idea where.

Similarly, I have read that DWP do not actually look at any additional evidence until they get the appeal date and at that time they can still contact the applicant to offer a different decision.

Are either of the above known to be factual? Am I simply clutching at straws?

I do now have a representative. Do they write the 'submission' at this point? Should I also be writing a personal statement to send to HCMTS prior to my hearing date?

Thank you.

I've moved your post to it's topic, we ask members not to post their questions in other's topics as it can lead to the wrong advice being given or taken.

The Tribunal panel will not make a Decision until the day of the hearing, in a few rare cases this can mean they contact the claimant before they leave for the hearing, more often then will tell them when they arrive, but even the latter is quite rare.

The DWP can revise the Decision in the claimants favour, this doesn't necessarily mean that they will offer you the award you are looking for, just a better one that they previously had. Again this is rare.
