ESA- significant risk was created by redcat
After 6 years in the SG, the DWP Have sent me an ESA 50. My question is this- since my last assessment I have been diagnosed with Addison’s Disease which is a life threatening illness. This being so should I automatically be considered at significant risk if found capable of work or work related activity? I carry an emergency injection with me at all times and wear a medic alert bracelet. I have gone into crisis while under physical or emotional stress. I’m wondering if informing the DWP of this when I return the form would automatically pass Port me into the SG?

I'm afraid there is no automatic meeting of the Substantial Risk rules, you must specifically explain the risk of harm that you might have if asked to perform Work Related Activity. The guide to ESA Claims due to mental health problems explains the requirement in more detail.
