PIP and moving around was created by dizzy55
Hi. I wonder if you could help me please. I'm filling in my PIP form and on the 'Moving around' question. I want to answer this
Can stand and then move more than 1 metre but no
more than 20 metres, either aided or unaided
I cannot walk more than 20 metres, but on a good day (which is NOT the majority of the time) I can go out being pushed in a wheelchair or on my mobility scooter.
Does this count as aided please? If so then will I be able to put the above answer as it refers to the majority of the time.
This is so confusing. Thanks in advance.

PIP only looks at the distance you can walk, it does not consider any distance that you travel in a wheelchair or scooter as these are not considered aids to your walking, because nether device involves you actually walking.

Also looks at your problems on the majority of days, not the majority of the time, this should be an easier test to meet.

If you cannot walk more than 20m then you need to explain why this is the case, what actually prevents you walking further?
