My GF, who has bipolar, is been invited to apply to change from DLA to PIP.
We requested information from her GP and he sent us out what looked like a printout. It gave very scant information eg the GF has been sectioned three times, the printout only showed one.
An enclosed letter advised her that if PIP wanted information (its Capita in NI) then they should contact him directly and they’ll pay for the information. From what I’ve read though this is not always the case. Can I put a message in the form requesting Capita to seek information from my GP/Consultant
On to the consultant. I assume all her information is on computer is it worth her while requesting that or is it best just to ask for specific questions
Definitely include a note on the form for Capita to write to her contacts, but don't rely on them doing it.
Speak to the Consultants secretary if you can to see what information they are willing to provide, diagnosis information can be important but testimony about her problems completing each of the PIP activities is the thing that will help to score points.
If it will help there is a GP Notes document in the PIP areas that might help the consultant put some structure to anything that they might produce.
