PIP 1 Form mis-information/lack of..!! was created by chipbutty
Hi everyone,
I have just had the brown envelope of Fear And Dread.
Transition from DLA to PIP after 23 years of being on DLA, High Mob, Middle Care.
And I'm Petrified...as we all.
I'm 66 yrs old.
No boring med conditions. Suffice to say I was on indefinite award.
I did the phone call for PIP 1.
I researched and found out that the DWP questioner did not ask me the questions on his PIP 1 form about previous DLA evidence that I would like to allow in the PIP claim.
It is on page.
VERY IMPORTANT...here are links to 'Rights Net' forum site with details.
www.rightsnet.org.uk/forums/viewthread/12021/
If you can't get this please try the official DWP specimen PIP 1 form, here
www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/upl.../pip1-claim-form.pdf
I was told that I cannot get a copy of this PIP 1. Form by the DWP ..also understand that it is not allowable in appeals.
Be mindful of that, and check your own research..it is there..!!

I need help please?
I have done DLA forms, IB50's on numerous occasions.
BUT I am baffled by the PIP 2 form.
I am totally confused what extra documents/letters to include in the initial submission.
The DWP themselves confuse you (as usual)...by saying evidence does not have to be recent, as they will contact your health professionals you name......!
YET, they say in their guidance notes, 'send as much as you can including recent data.
I have letters and hospital admission dates going back to 2004,,,,,indicating discharge dates and diagnosed illness.

MY QUESTION GOOD PEOPLE...please,as I am really distressed.
SHOULD I SEND ALL NOW.
Or as they say" KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY" for another day.
i.e. a potential appeal situation.
Many thanks.
If you can get my email pls do a private email.
I have no idea how to do that.
Cheers Steve

I'm afraid we do not communicate with members by email.

There is absolutely no value in holding information back that might contribute to your receiving an award.

Useful evidence includes diagnosis letters and letters and reports that explain your limitations in completing the PIP activities or at the least imply the limitations that you would reasonably have.

Appointment letter are of limited value but do show on-going treatment which can help, so yo might include the latest one.

If you have DLA evidence that you think is relevant to a PIP claim then our recommendation is to include it yourself, that way you will know that it is included and you can make reference to it in your answers on the PIP2.

That is just what I needed .
Thank you sir.
I will include all recent and past relevant comms.
The DLA evidence is a copy of my original claim forms from tears ago, so I will just submit reference to such and dates.
I will now submit the letters that do give detailed evidence of surgery etc.
Which I was not sure to do so.
Many thanks.
I appreciate your speedy response.
Great.
Cheers Steve.

Hi all,
Thanks Gordon for all your help.
It does appear that via the info you sent me that the mis-information by the DWP could be perhaps helpful.
Could you tell me please why there is a Big Red Apostrophe by my posting.?
I hope I haven't upset anyone.
Please advise on that.
I had my assessment 4 days ago, they called me on the phone and said they had cancellations so could I go on short notice..?
As I am awaiting an important surgeon appointment and it may have conflicted, I declined.
They said they would still send me an appointment letter and that I only had one chance to decline. I got the letter and fortunately there was not a conflicting date. So I went.
I found it one of the most distressing events in my life.
I followed all your excellent PIP guides in completing the PIP 2.
I was assessed by an ex Matron from a Local Cardiology Department.
My main problems are Cardiac related. Having that 'Young Lady' may or may not have been beneficial in understanding. The Lady did know personally of my own local Cardiologist who I am under. Concerning....? I feel so.
As much as the questioning went, I felt I was on Trial. Very disturbing. I noticed, from your guides, when the 'observations' were happening....It was so hard to remain focused to remember
"BUT" and "Reliably".
I had a carer with me and still got very distressed.
I will post the outcome when the news arrives..!!!
Thank you all again. I could not have got through it without you.
Steve.

When you create a new topic, you have the option of selecting an icon to be displayed against it, if there is an exclamation mark next to your topic, then you must have selected it when you first posted :)

You can request a copy of your assessment report by contacting the DWP office dealing with your claim.

Decisions are taking 2-4 weeks but there may still be a backlog from Xmas that may delay it slightly.
