Seeking recommendations for cassette recorder

I was hoping to record my pip face-to-face. The only cassette recorders at well-known internet retailers get terrible reviews, especially for voice recording. Can anyone recommend a current make/model?

The modern cassette recorders are pretty poor, so make sure you position them close to the source and test prior to your appointment (this will also help you gauge how loudly you and HP need to speak to be clearly heard). A popular choice two of these : www.argos.co.uk/product/5740413

The HP can of course terminate your assessment if you are found to be recording without consent, but given that you will be seeking consent the HP is unlikely to be searching your room for other recording devices whilst the cassette decks are in use. Therefore whilst I couldn't recommend it, you could potentially record to a hidden smartphone or other device with better fidelity whilst the cassette recorders are running.

We had cassette recorders from Argos and found that the sound quality was not very good. We purchased a Tonor Desktop Microphone for each recorder and the sound quality was much better. The microphone has to be directed correctly and we practised a lot. We had the recorders set up completely before going to the assessment centre and all we had to do was unravel and plug in. My husband's claim was successful. Hope this helps.

I bought two of the Argos recorders. They're not brilliant but did the job. They have a docket where you can download the recording to a USB Stick etc which is very useful.
