Does it matter please if I don't fill the ESA form in capitals? I struggle to write at the best of times and didn't notice that it said to use big letters. I can't get any help this time, the people who filled it in before have closed down and the other place hasn't got any appointments till January. I've got a new GP who I don't know, I've lost all my mental health team support as they said they had no money and rheumatology people got rid of me because they said they couldn't do any more other than tablets for pain. now I started filling in the stupid form wrong and I've failed already I don't know what to do I just want to curl up and not be here.

Providing they can read you hand writing it won't be an issue, the forms are scanned so normal writing can sometimes be difficult to read, as an alternative you can type up your answers and attach them as extra pages to the ESA50, just make sure that each page has your full name and NIN at the top and that they are numbered, we recommend "page X of Y" so that it is easy to see if pages are missing. Make sure you clearly mark on the form where your answers are and on the relevant page that you are answering question X.

Attach the pages to the back of the ESA50 using a staple or make a hole in the top left corner and use a treasury tag, string or ribbon to the form. The pages need to be easily detached so that they can be scanned by the DWP.

God, I really feel for you. They are making it impossible to survive at all more and more! Ive experienced similar things with being left out in the cold by various service through cuts and castration of all our support. It is so distressing and so scary and Im not surprised so many people have committed suicide I feel like it myself and they help drive you to it. I decided to fight them instead though, but when you keep having to go through it with reassessment sand more severences it is very hard. Makes you think they would just be happy culling us all... good luck though. At least we have this wonderful site to help us! :-)

Thank you for the replies, I got myself in a state earlier and had to go and lay down. Feeling a little calmer so I'll attempt the forms again. I'll just have to do them as I can which isn't going to be block capitals. If it's not good enough they'll have to send me another form and maybe I'll be able to get some help then.

I'm still working through the forms but have discovered another problem. I've got no one to post the form for me till next Friday 22nd. The person who takes my post and gets me some shopping is on holiday till then, I forgot about that. My form has to be there on the 28th. I'll pay for next day delivery so it gets next day, and is tracked but due to Christmas bank holidays it wouldn't get there till Wednesday 27th I don't think and I'm worried about it being stuck in the post and getting lost. I not sure even if anyone will be there to take and sign for post over christmas. If it's not there by the 28th will they just stop my money or will they make some allowance for the bank holidays please?

Xmas problems with the post should be limited to 1st and 2nc class post, Next Day delivery should not be effected. I would expect there to be staff in the mail centres on everything but the Bank Holidays.

As long as you have proof of delivery there should not be a problem if it is actually late.
