My friend has severe mental health problems and is in receipt of ESA SG and PIP. She's recently received a letter (which I haven't seen yet, so I'm repeating what she's told me over the phone) telling her to go to the JC for an appointment in January and to bring her bank statements and that if she doesn't attend it could affect her benefits.
Does anyone have any idea what this is about, as I thought she'd be exempt from such interviews? She won't understand what she's told anyway, so she'll need a carer/social worker with her to act as an intermediary and note down what's being said for future reference and they may not be available on the date in question, so we may have to reschedule the appointment.
