warning - incompetent PIP assessors

Just to give people a heads up, on the kind of thing to expect at their PIP assessment.
I had the ‘pleasure’ of receiving my invitation to a PIP face-to-face assessment at Carlisle with only 3 days notice to attend. Which meant a 66 mile round trip, despite me sending copies of 45 medical reports, and 9 pages of detailed typed answers to the claim form, in which amongst other things, it was explained in great detail how difficult and stressful it would be for me to travel or attend assessments or appointments etc.
The centre at Carlisle unbelievably has no parking available, not even a single disabled parking bay!!
How on earth can this be acceptable or even legal? A private company assessing disabled people in a centre without any nearby parking?
I was then kept waiting for 20 minutes, after my appointment time, before I was eventually seen by the ‘healthcare professional’, and it just got worse from there.
The lady who carried out the assessment, clearly didn’t understand or know the law regarding the descriptors. She was so incompetent, I literally sat open mouthed dumbfounded and lost for words.
To give just 4 examples from the many:
The question on ‘going out’ and navigating to a known location, she asked “if I went out, would I recognise my own house?”
Question on ‘making a simple meal’ she asked can a make a cup of tea and toast, or a sandwich?
Question on ‘Arranging finances’ she asked do I know what a £1 coin and a £10 note looked like?
Question on ‘washing and bathing’ she asked if I could reach to wash my lower legs and feet with a long handled brush?
Consequently I do not hold out any hope of receiving a favourable report from the DWP if this is the level of knowledge from the so called Healthcare professionals. I really don’t know whether this lady was genuinely so incompetent, or whether she was deliberately misleading me with the questions.
This would have been a perfect example of why you should record your interview, if I had have done.
