Change of address PIP

Change of address PIP was created by Rowena
I had been awarded PIP for five years in 2016. I got enhanced mobility and standard rate care. We have just moved so I rang PIP to tell them. They said I needed to fill out a form so they sent me the full form all over again. It would seem I had to fill it out from scratch. Has this happened to anyone else? I now have to go through all that worry of having the brown envelope drop through my letterbox again. I’m not sure if my nerves can stand it, I’m going to have a nervous breakdown at this rate. Surely they can’t expect you to go through this whole rigmarole every time one little thing changes.

You don't say what form you have received, if it is a PIP1 then it's a bit over the top but not that unreasonable.

If it is a PIP2 then then the DWP are completely out of order, a change of address should in no way result in a reassessment of the claim, unfortunately unless the form is withdrawn by the DWP you have little choice but to complete it.

If the latter then I would make a formal complaint to the DWP and I would also involve your MP.

Thanks Gordon. Sorry, it was a PIP2 form, but I was also informing them that I had been diagnosed with an additional complaint. As none of my other problems will ever go away (diabetes, peripheral neuropathy, extensive back surgery with permanent nerve damage from same), I didn't think I would have to send in a form for 'How your Disability Affects You' in its entirety all over again). I did send it all again anyway, but thought it was a bit over the top. I'm hoping that they will see that I had a face to face in 2016 for five years and that I had been awarded high mobility and standard care. I was going to appeal it as I had had DLA indefinite and high for both. However, I cancelled my request for the MR as I just couldn't pluck up the courage to go through all that 'tight, permanent knot in your stomach' and petrifying worry about losing all my income and losing my car. We live in a fairly rural area so all my regular hospital visits comprise of four different sites, one of which is a 150 mile round trip. Add that to appointments where clinics are only conducted in the morning and I just wouldn't be able to attend. Perhaps the DWP are underhandedly trying to kill us all off. Anyway (sorry to whine on) is it normal to receive the whole form to fill out again and are we going to have to do this every five years. The DWP are going to end up with increasingly thicker files every time we have to fill it out and send in the bloomin' things. Do you think a phone call to them would help me avoid af2f again?

If your reported a change of circumstances to the Department for Communities then they are always going to issue a new PIP2 to understand how you are now effected by your conditions, it is also highly likely that you will be asked to attend a face to face assessment as a result as well.

I've only just read your reply and now feel physically sick at the thought of going through that horrific f2f again. I stupidly didn't take in my copy of the PIP form last time. She eventually said she could locate a copy online. However, she was only interested in finding the medication sheet so she could get the exact dosage of all my meds. At the time I was so traumatised by the whole thing, that it didn't occur to me that, had she even read my file? I suppose she might have as I did see her looking out of the windows as my husband was wheeling me in. Something your site said might happen. However, one of the main reasons she gave for only giving standard care was supervision over medication and my condition. She said even though I had written it down in my application form, she wrote that as I didn't mention it during the assessment she hasn't awarded me points in that section, but she didn't even ask about that. I really should have gone through the MR, but my nerves were so shot by then I wasn't able to. Do you know, just writing this has set my tummy churning and I feel a knot right in the pit of my stomach. Still I have just renewed my subscription as I'm sure I will be visiting you a lot over the next few months. Mind you I've always kept my membership current as I think it is important to know what the little b's next plan of action is. I think they ultimately want to get ride of the welfare system altogether, although I think there would be riots in the street akin to the poll tax.
