Hello All, I am in such a quandry.... i gave up fighting for my ESA support i couldnt cope mentally anymore. I have Menieres amongst other health probs....so I went all out to get a job. I got one as a sales assistant ...only for them to 'let me go' during my probationary period 8 weeks in... as i ' wasn't able to learn quickly enough for the needs of the business and making errors'. I havn't worked since 2010 due to my illhealth. I now dont know which way to turn in this nightmare of benefits system. Do i re-apply for ESA ..try Jobseekers Allowance ..or just continue to search for work and probably end up in the same predicament. My anxiety levels are sky high at the thought of it all. Can anyone please advise me on which way might be best to turn please...

I'm afraid nobody can advise you what to do, only you can make the decision.
If you closed your ESA claim and it is no more than 12 weeks since this happened then you can to have your ESA claim reinstated.
If you were found Fit for Work and it is no more than 13 months since the Decision was made then you can still challenge it.
You need to check whether you postcode has been switched to Universal Credit to see whether you can claim JSA or UC.
Claiming JSA or UC will require you to meet a minimal level of job searching each week, this may not suit you.

Hi Just to up date... I decided to re-apply for ESA adn just got the brown letter today to say I still was found fit for work and a copy of the results of my last medical assessment from last year was included. In the same post recieved the letter from my phone call aplication asking for further information to be sent and to sign the declaration? I am confused as to how they have reached a decision finding me fit for work when they obviously have not got my reply yet from the declaration? I dont know what I am supposed to do next either ..Confused.com

If the last Decision on your ESA was that you were Fit for Work then you cannot make a new claim for ESA unless you can show that you have a new condition or that your existing conditions have deteriorated, such that you would reasonably receive an award.
You haven't said what the declaration includes but my guess is that it is associated with the above.
