Exemption from Reassessment was created by ESA Headache
I am writing on behalf of someone who has a severe learning disability caused by abnormal chromosomes. I notice that Exemption from Reassessment includes 'all chromosomal conditions'. Would this mean that they would not have to attend a F2F even if they didn't require a F2F on application of first ESA50, used to receive SDA

I'm sorry but I don't know what document you are referring to. Can you provide a link?

It's on page 3 of the Employment & Support Allowance and Universal Credit claims on
Mental Health Grounds
What’s new in this version
Page 93. Details added about ‘Exemption’ from reassessment.
'The effect of your condition means that you will always meet at least one of the
support group descriptors above. The DWP say that conditions which might qualify,
include: “Motor Neurone Disease (MND), severe and progressive forms of MS,
Parkinson’s, all dementias, all chromosomal conditions, Huntington’s, severe
irreversible cardiorespiratory failure, severe acquired brain injury …this list is not
exhaustive” . The DWP also say that conditions which might not meet the criteria
include “recently diagnosed relapsing non-progressive forms of MS or some people
with less severe mental health conditions with periods of reasonable function”.

I'm afraid you have misunderstood the guide, it's not helped by your missing several key words from the sections you have quoted :)

This is about ESA claimants being excused from further assessment, whilst it may seem the same, it is not about claimants being excused from current assessment, also the guide says that conditions such as chromosomal conditions might might qualify the claimant.

However, the Decision process for exempting claimants is not based on their conditions but their meeting certain ESA Support Group Descriptors.

It's possible that your friend might be exempted from future assessments as a result of this one but these guidelines do not apply to them at the moment.

I'm sorry that I missed out some words, I thought I had them all when I copied and pasted.

What I really wanted to say was that the first time that my friend, well I, filled in the ESA50, following a move from SDA they did not require a F2F. They went straight into the Support Group without a F2F. I realise that they are not exempt from filling in another ESA50 which is what I am attempting to do now. I made the mistake of thinking that because they had a chromosome abnormality which causes severe learning disability which is unlikely ever to improve that they would automatically not require a F2F due to 'Exemption from Assessment, my mistake
I shall plod on form filling

As most, if not all, of the last completed ESA50 still remains the same am I allowed to word the new ESA50 the same apart from small amounts of editing
