Morning everyone,
I’m new here so still finding joy way around the forum. Is there a search facility?
Ut I need some assistance please. I have functional bowel disease, a posh name for Chronic IBS. When I have an episode, which is roughly about 75% of time, I faint. I’m trying to work out how best to fill out them form to describe this because obviously when I faint, and for approximately an hour afterward I am unable to do anything.and need assistance from my parents for whatever is going in the rest of the day. Also I have a two year old and when I have an episode they come to check me and then get him to look after him, if anyone else has something similar I would love hear from them, thank you

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

The search is in the top right of the page.

If your fainting is linked to your toileting and you do not faint for any other reason then I think it unlikely that you will score points due to this for any of the other PIP activities.

You don't mention any other problems you have with the activity so it's difficult to advise how you should reply to it, for example is there any lag between the "IBS" attack and your fainting, if not then this may allow you to score higher.

Although this activity includes supervision, it is only at the lower end of the points score, you need to fit your conditions to the Descriptors as much as you reasonably can.

Thank you Gordon, I tried looking at the FAQ’s but for they are showing as “locked” long with a number of other threads. It looks like I don’t have full function of the site yet which I assumed was because I am new.

When you say if it’s linked to toileting it won’t core points for others, do you mean it will under toilet needs but not for other activities. Only I can have up to 10 bowel movements a day and roughly a third will cause fainting. I’ve lost a huge list of injuries sadly. This then has a knock on effect on going out, preparing food showering after but I will have a good think and try to describe it as best I can. It would be good if those threads could be unlocked, can you help with this? Thank agin again

A locked topic simply means that members cannot add further posts to it, it does not mean that they cannot read it. :)

If the fainting is specifically linked to you going to the toilet then I think you are going to struggle any knock on effect to the other PIP activities.
