Dear Moderator
I have carefully searched your website which is an absolute treasure of factual information relating to the rules governing a multiplicity of benefits available within the UK and how best to apply for each benefit.

Subsequently I am politely asking if the websites current information in relation to the following benefits is up to date:
1. Disability Living Allowance – your website states “If you get DLA and you were aged 65 or over on 8 April 2013, you can continue to receive it and are unaffected by the introduction of PIP”?

2. Attendance Allowance – is all the current information relating to this Allowance up to date?

3. Do the rules governing both of the aforementioned benefits equally apply to all four countries who make-up the UK?

As I am making this enquiry on behalf of a very good friend I want to be absolutely sure that it is up to date not that I would ever challenge the impeccable advice I have received on each and every occasion in the past and played a major role in me recently being awarded the Enhanced Rate of both components of PIP.

However as a regular visitor to and reader of the contents of your website it is evident this government can quickly make changes to the laws relating to benefits available for those of us who are physically disabled and/or suffer from psychological disorders; nowhere is this more evident than in relation to PIP!

My sincere thanks for considering this request for information which I am totally confident will be absolutely correct.

Be aware that there could be changes, the Scottish government now have control of most benefits, they may make changes that only effect their country.

Northern Ireland has it's own legislation, but the benefits and their operation are the same as they are on mainland. I believe that the legislation is passed by Westminster not the Irish Assembly but has to have their agreement.

1. The Cut-Off for PIP is 8 March 2013 for the UK mainland, it is 20 June 2016 for Northern Ireland.

2. Yes

3. Subject to the different legislation mentioned above, yes! There are some administrative differences, for example in NI there is a compensation plan if the PIP claim is lower than the DLA it replaces.

Hello Gordon
You state that “the cut-off for PIP is 20 June 2016 for Northern Ireland” so do I read your valued information correctly when I state in relation to Northern Ireland:

“If you get DLA and were aged 65 or over on 20 June 2016 you can continue to receive it and are unaffected by the introduction of PIP”

I apologise for troubling you again and thank you for your help and patience.
