H ello I was previously on DLA for my Mobility issues & I have PTSD & Clinical Depression. I last saw my Pyschiatrist four years ago but it was far too stressful for me to continue seeing him and re-living something. I am wondering will this be a big issue when i now have to apply for PIP in the next week. I am a prisoner in my own home due to anxiety and have constant recurring nightmares which are very traumatic for me. Please can you advise me. Thank You
The fact that you have not seen anybody for some time will not help, but this does not mean that it will hinder your claim either.
Do you have any reports from when you were seen and can you reasonably show that your conditions are not likely to have changed since you last saw your Psyciatrist?
Are you able to see your GP, if you can then it is worth your asking them what support they may be able to provide you,
Where are you in the process? If you have received the invitation but have not yet then made the call then our PIP Claim guide covers the call and the questions you are likely to be asked.
