Had the above this morning. The interviewer said more than once that because I'm in the Contribution-related group, as opposed to the Income-related group, none of the activities were compulsory. I thought if you didn't do as they asked, your money would be stopped! Of course I should have queried it at the time but didn't have my wits about me. Can anyone clarify?
I'm not aware of any restriction for claimants receiving Contribution Based ESA, however the advisor may not have made the activities mandatory because your ESA(CB) payments are time limited and you may not be able to complete any program they might set for you before your payments stop.
If you are also eligible for Income Related ESA then you may find that the activities become mandatory.
