Is it worth appealing? was created by Mesozoic
Hello,
I received a letter yesterday (Saturday) telling me that my Mandatory Reconsideration had been refused. I remain in the ESA Wrag. They will review it in 18 months, 6 months after the money stops! The DWP have overlooked every point I made in favour of those made by the HP, which is what happened originally.

My problem is that I'm unlikely to get any further medical evidence. My GP has more or less left me to my own devices after my seeing psychiatrists, counsellors et al.to no avail. I have clinical depression which seems to be getting gradually worse with age! I'm taking medication but apart from the reviews and six-monthly blood tests there isn't much my GP could add.
Likewise the last psychiatrist I saw has signed me off as being stable under said medication.

I think I could make a case from the frankly ridiculous statements given in the letter, but without independent medical evidence it is really worth appealing? The DWP are saying I could as I've been given all the instructions to appeal!

Apologies for the rant!

Have you identified the Support Group Descriptors that you would expect to meet and understand the criteria?

It's not always necessary to supply additional evidence for an appeal although it may help. See

The most important thing is to show that you meet the criteria and then consider what you need, if anything, to support this.
