At some point I would like to do some kind of permitted. I am in the ESA support group.
Can anyone share their experiences?
Also, would it effect other benefits such as housing?

I'll leave it to others to comment on how their doing PW worked out for them.
Other benefits will not be effected.
There is a guide to PW in the ESA section.

I was wondering sorry if this is obvious, but why would housing benefit not take into account the extra money from working?

Whilst you cannot do PW specifically with Housing Benefit, if you do it with another benefit such as ESA then the income is disregarded.
